Mera Peak Climbing

Namast and welcome to Climbing Mera Peak,

Climbing Mera Peak is one of the highest Trekking Peak N.M.A (B) Group, Climbing Mera peak is not  much difficult and not technical you can climb easily if your health condition are giving you permit. But you need good equipment such as Crampons, Ice axe, rope, Ice croups etc, Our climbing guide will fix rope where is necessary.

From the top of Mera Peak Central (6461m) you will have greed view of the Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Barunche, Amadablam, Lhotse and Cho oyo, From  the highcamp you  need to go early morning it takes 10 hours to go and back to Khare.

Trip Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu:
Your free day at Kathmandu hotel include with bed and Breakfast.

Day 03:  From Kathmandu  45 minute fly to Lukla.
Today,we will take an early morning scenic flight from Kathmandu to the airstrip of Lukla. Lukla is the gateway to Khumbu and entire Everest region. From Lukla we start our trek heading east into the thick forest on the hillside. There are several trails that head away from the main trail on this section, so sticking to  the best option before arriving at Chhutang.(3020m) 3 hours walking from Lukla Overnight at Lodge.

Day 04: Chhuthang - Tuli Kharka.
Leaving Chhutang we will follow the trail that is a gradual ascent which steepens as we head towards the crossing of Zatrawala Pass at 4600 meters. Our tiring climb to the top of the pass is rewarded with magnificent views of Numbur Himal, Kongdi Ri, Karyolang Peak and other surrounding peaks.Our trek goes along a leveled path for almost two hours before descending all the way to Tuli Kharka.(4100m) 6 hours walking overnight at Lodge.

Day 05: Tuli Kharka – Kothe:
From Tuli Kharka our trail is a mixture of both uphill and downhill trekking through dense forest filled of rhododendron, oak, pine and juniper trees? During our trek today we will have magnificent views of Mera Peak and surrounding snow capped peaks. A steep descent to the Hinku River and a final uphill climb will lead us to Kothe. Kothe lies to the west side of the Hinku valley and offers serene wilderness with lush vegetation to trekkers.(4182m) 6 hours walking overnight at Lodge.

Day 06:  Kothe – Thangnak:
Our trail from Kothe goes along the ridge of Hinku river towards Gondishung. Further trekking we will pass through Lungsumgba Gompa which was built approximately 200 years ago. Here we can find Mera Peak along with its route scripted in rock which is a fantastic piece of rock carving architecture. Our trek continues with a rather easy walking trail that leads to the summer grazing area of Thangnak where there are shops and number of best tea hours.(4326m) Overnight at Lodge.

Day 07; Thangnak – Khare:
Our trail from Thangnak goes over the lateral moraine towards hinku and Shar Glaciers. From there our further trekking is a steep climb all the way to Khare. We will have magnificent view of Northern Face of Mera Peak from Khare. (5000m) 6 hours walking Overnight at Lodge.

Day 08: Rest day at Khare:
Acclimatization is very essential in higher altitudes to avoid mental and physical sickness. As we are above 5000 meters altitude, we will spend a rest day at Khare for acclimatization and exploration. Proper acclimatization is a must for ensuring our successful summit climb of Mera Peak. Our Sherpa team will make necessary checks on our climbing gears including ropes, ice axes, crampons, harness and other equipments before heading further to higher camps.Overnight at Lodge.

Day 09: Khare- Mera Base Camp (5300m) 4 hours walking:
Leaving Khare, we start our short but technically demanding trek towards Mera Peak base camp. Our trail is a gradual ascend over to Mera Glacier. We will climb steeply towards the top of the glacier before traversing along the glacier to finally arrive at Mera peak base camp. Once at the base camp our Sherpa will quickly set up the camp overnight at Lodge,

Day 10: Base camp- Mera High Camp (5700m)
Leaving the base camp we will follow the trail that climbs over through Mera La Pass and continue trekking along rocky and often snow covered trail towards Mera Peak high camp. Once at the high camp our Sherpa will quickly set up the camps and make necessary checks on our health conditions and climbing gears. From the high camp, we can enjoy amazing views of Everest, Makalu, Nuptse, Cho Oyu, Baruntse and Chamlang.About 4 hours Overnight at camp,

Day 11: Summit Mera Peak (6461m)
Today is the day we all have been desperately waiting for. Properly equipped and fully acclimatized we start early with the aim to reach the summit before noon. Strong winds after midday can create obstacles in reaching the summit.We start around 2 in the morning and after having breakfast we climb up the glacier and onto a ridge. Following the footsteps and guidance of our experienced climbing expert, we head towards Mera Peak summit. Once at the top we are rewarded with magnificent views of five spectacular 8000 meter peaks – Everest (8848m) Cho Oyu (8201m) Makalu (8463m), Kanchenjunga (8586m), as well as Nuptse(7855m), and Chamlang (7319m) After spending quality time at the Mera Peak summit we will descend following the same route and head back to reach Khare about 10 hours overnight at Lodge.

Day 12:  Khare - Kothe:
After having achieved our target – summit of Mera Peak, we will retrace our steps from Khare and pass through Thangnak before heading further towards Kothe. With mostly downhill trekking, we will leave the high altitudes and enter into the dense sub-tropical forest filled with rhododendron, oak, pine and birch trees. We trek until we arrive at Kothe 5/6 hours walking Overnight Lodge.

Day 13: Kothe -Tuli Kharka:
Leaving Kothe, our trail is an uphill trekking through dense rhododendron forest that goes over the western section of Hinku valley towards Tuli Kharka. From Tuli Kharka we can enjoy the magnificent views of Mera North, Mera Central and South face of Mera Peak.5 hours walking overnight at Lodge.

Day 14: Tuli Kharka - Lukla via Zatrawala Pass.
Today is the last day of our trekking. From Tuli Kharka we will ascend for the crossing of Zatrawala Pass and from the top of the pass we descend to finally arrive back to Lukla. About 6 hours walking.Overnight at Lodge,

Day 15: Lukla-Kathmandu:
From Lukla fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel.

Day 16: Kathmandu:
Your free day at Kathmandu hotel include with bed and Breakfast.

Day 17: Departure day:
After breakfast transfer to international airport of Kathmandu  for departure.

Notes Please: Payment should be made 35 % of total amount in advance. Full amount must be paid before strat your trip. Cancellation should be made 48 hours before departure and 25% cancellation charge is applicable beside Tax, transportation, permits and others fixed expensive. In case of incomplete Trekking / Tour / Rafting / Climbing / Jungles safari / or others days due to the client own problem the amount of money paid not refundable. If clients want to do Trekking / Tour / Rafting / Climbing / Jungles safari / or others tours more than itinerary, they can pay after back from tour with per day basic but should be permission with our Guide.
