Farming Dinboche

Unlike another high-altitude village. Dingboche is a relatively flat valley, where locals grow barley, Potatoes, and buckwheat during the warmer months. The fields are often enclosed by stone walls to protect the crops from the cold winds.

After reaching Summit Chhukung Ri, you return to Chhukung (4,730m), take rest and prepare for the Island Peak ascent.

Island Peak Climbing from Dingboche | What about Trekking & Climbing Permits

We will include Island Peak Climbing Permits in our package cost. The climbing permit is from the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), but you must pay Sagarmatha National Park and Pasang Lhamu municipality fees, which you can pay during the trek.

How do we get to Lukla?

You have the option to take a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla or from Ramechhap to Lukla. If you need to book a ticket, we can arrange your plane ticket. Alternatively, we can also arrange a helicopter from Kathmandu to Lukla and back to Kathmandu.

When is the Best time to climb the Island from Dingboche?

The best time to go to Chhukung Ri and Island Peak climbing is from September to November and late March to early May in Spring. Ideal Month October-November is widely regarded as the best month offering stable weather, the clearest views, and comfortable trekking conditions, Similarly, April is excellent, especially for those who prefer slightly warmer conditions.
