Chhukung to Island peak Base camp
The Trekking to Island Peak Base camp is relatively short but can feel challenging due to the high altitude. The trail follows the Imja Khola River and offers you incredible views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and other Himalayan Peaks. Upon reaching the Base camp, usually Climber spends the nights there.
Summit Day Island Peak (6,189m)
Base camp to Island Peak Summit about 9-10 hours for a round trip. From Base camp climbing starts very early morning (around 1-2-AM) to reach the Island peak summit around sunrise.
Island Peak terrain
The route involves scrambling over rock and scree, followed by the glacier climb, where you will need to fix ropes up and use crampons, and ice axes. There is a steep headwall of around 45-50 degrees near the summit, which requires fixed ropes.

After Island Peak Summit
After Peak Summit we descend to Base camp, which takes about 4-5 hours. But it depends on how you feel. Climbers can either stay at Base camp or return to Chhukung on the same day.
