Lukla to Mera Peak climbing is another popular trekking and mountaineering route in Nepal, which involves trekking through beautiful landscapes and ascending to the summit of Mera Peak, the highest trekking peak in the Everest region.

After the Flight to Lukla: The trek begins with a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, followed by a trek through lush forests, beautiful valleys, and remote villages of the Everest region. Elevation of Mera Peak (6470 Meters): The routes essentially wrap around the southwest and north sides of Mera Central. The Mera High Camp leads us off the Henku Valley way to Mingbola Pass to climb Mera Peak. We will practice our necessary mountaineering equipment like Crampons. Ice axes and fix rope before crossing icy slopes to reach the pass. The final pitch is short steep ice and we will fix the climbing rope from our climbing guide.

Where is the Climbing Guide

Our Climbing Guide in Khare: You will meet with our guide at Mountain View Lodge in Khare to discuss your climbing Project. On the Rest day in Khare, you can hike in Merala. but your porter will be at Lukla airport.

We serve in Mera High Camp: Tents, breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be handled by our climbing guide.

Mera Peak climbing time: Early in the morning, we climbed Mera Peak from high camp at 3 a.m.

How Long does it take for Mera Peak Climbing? The trip from high camp to Summit Mera Peak (6,470m) and back to Khare takes about ten to eleven hours.

Is it possible to go to Mera Peak myself? Individual trekkers cannot obtain climbing permits, they must purchase them from government-registered trekking agencies. The reason for this is that climbing Mera Peak without a guide is impossible.

If Necessary Communication?  The mobile phone networks in Lukla can be inconsistent, but some are available. There is landline and satellite telephone service available in Khote, Tangnag, and Khare. It will cost you between $5 and $10 per minute to contact your family.

Carry your daily budget: You can carry your daily budget of 3500 Nepali Rupees is enough for the lodge and food, It is about 29$ per day per person.

Drinking water during the Trek: You can take boiled water from the lodge it costs 2-300 Nepali rupees per bottle. It is better to use water purification drops and tablets which you can either bring from your country or can buy in Kathmandu.

During the tea house lodge trekking, you will find typical foods such as Noodles, Rice, Pasta, Potato dishes, fresh vegetables, and eggs, for dinner and Lunch. For the Breakfast items Tibetan bread, Pancake, muesli, Porridge, and toast with peanut butter. Honey and jam.

Charging Mobils and Camera: The most lodges, there is a Solar system whereby you will be able to charge your iPod, mobile, and Camera batteries but they will charge you extra money 400 Nepali rupees per hour.

Accommodation on the Merapeak Trek: You can sleep at the Tea House local lodge every night. It is very basic and has two single beds. The toilets are mostly shared with other trekkers.

Permits for Mera Peak: The Nepal Mera Peak climb trip requires permits, Barun National Park, and a TIMS Card, which is compulsory for the trekker.

Flight and Land Transport Service for Mera Peak: During the Mera Peak climbing Expedition, you must take a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla to Kathmandu. But there is another option you can hire a local Jeep from Kathmandu to Buksa but you need three days extra. If you travel by Jeep it takes 15 hours from Kathmandu to Buksa.
